PLEDGES & DONATIONS
This note explains how funding for the Christian Malford Village Hall Rebuild Project will be assessed before a final go/no-go decision in early September 2026.
In plain terms:
The project will only proceed if enough money is secured from four sources:
*Fundraising
*Grants
*Donations
*A Public Works Loan (to cover any shortfall)
A key point is the difference between DONATIONS NOW and PLEDGES:
Immediate donations (e.g. via JustGiving, bank transfer, or “buying bricks”) are accepted now. (If the project doesn’t go ahead, those donations will be refunded.)
Pledges are a way of saying “I’m willing to give money, but only if the project is confirmed.”
You’d complete a Gift Aid form marked “PLEDGE”
You don’t pay anything yet
You only pay if the project is approved to proceed
The reason for pledges is to help the Village Hall CIO Board get a more accurate picture of real committed funding, which will inform the final decision in September 2026.
Pledge (Gift Aid) forms can be sourced from:
- Every house had one in the Parish Newsletter in June
- The village Hall website has a copy which you can download
- The Village Hall has some physical copies
- The Village Shop has some physical copies
Please return your completed Pledge form to the Village Shop and place it in the sealed drop box.’
