Project Overview
Following the successful planning approval granted on 27 November 2025 for the rebuilding of the Village Hall, adjustments to the project’s timeline have become necessary. The current schedule anticipates awarding the construction contract in January 2027, with building works to commence in February or March 2027.
Project Activities for the Next Nine Months
The forthcoming nine months are set to be exceptionally busy, as two dedicated sub-groups continue to pursue the main objectives of the project. Each group will focus on a distinct aspect of the rebuild:
Rebuild Sub-Committee
The Rebuild Sub-Committee is actively engaged in finalising the tender documentation required for the rebuild. Their efforts are directed towards completing both the detailed design and the preliminary internal design of the new Village Hall. By 1 March 2026, the team will prepare the official tender for the rebuild project, with the final version due to be completed by July or August 2026. The tendering process is scheduled to commence in September 2026.
Fund Raising Team
The Fund-Raising Team will be working diligently to secure the necessary financial resources for the project. Their strategy includes targeting various grant funding options, preparing and submitting the relevant applications, and organising a programme to encourage individual donations from members of the community. In addition, several fundraising events are planned to take place in Christian Malford, all aimed at supporting the rebuild initiative.
Funding Review and Contingency Planning
A review of the project’s funding status will take place on 1 September 2026. This review is intended to identify any shortfall in the funds required. If a funding shortfall is detected and it becomes necessary to increase the precept to support a Public Works Loan, we will consult the village and arrange an open meeting to keep the community fully informed. The Parish Council is due to set the precept for the next financial year at their December meeting.
